AIIMS NORCET 9 registration begins for 3,500 nursing officer posts; apply by August 11

The AIIMS NORCET 9 preliminary exam will be held on September 14, 2025. Candidates who qualify in the prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains exam, which is scheduled for September 27.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has begun the registration process for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET 9). Eligible candidates can apply for the AIIMS NORCET 9 through the official website, aiimsexams.ac.in. The last date to complete the registration process is August 11.

As per the official notification, the AIIMS NORCET 9 examination will be conducted in two stages. The preliminary exam is scheduled to take place on September 14, while candidates who qualify in this stage will appear for the mains exam scheduled to be held on September 27.

The application fee for NORCET-9 is Rs 3,000 for candidates belonging to the general and OBC categories, while those from SC, ST and EWS categories are required to pay Rs 2,400. Persons with benchmark disabilities are exempted from paying the fee.

The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 3,500 vacancies across various institutes, including all AIIMS, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NITRD), and Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and more.

The vacancies include 1,412 under the unreserved category, 984 for other backwards classes (OBC), 522 for scheduled castes (SC), 239 for scheduled tribes (ST), and 343 for the economically weaker sections (EWS) category.

AIIMS NORCET 9 Registration: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the AIIMS NORCET 9 exam are given below.

Age Limit: Candidates' age should be between 18 and 30 years of age, with the age calculated as on the closing date of application submission is August 11.

Educational qualifications for BSc Nursing candidates

  • Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an institute or university recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council OR
  • Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science (Post-Certificate) in Nursing or Post-Basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an institute or university recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council
  • Candidates should be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with either the Indian Nursing Council or the State Nursing Council

Educational qualification for GNM diploma holders:

  • Candidates should hold a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from an institute, board or council recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council.
  • Candidates should be registered as Nurse and Midwife with either the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council.
  • Candidates should have two years of work experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds.
  • This experience should be acquired only after completion of the course, declaration of result, and registration with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
  • The two-year experience is mandatory and will be considered valid only if all the above conditions are met.
