The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that candidates appearing for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSLE) Exam 2025 can now choose their exam city, date, and shift. The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is scheduled to be held from November 12, 2025.

The commission has enabled a candidate-friendly self-slot selection facility. As per the official notice, candidates can log in to the portal between October 22 and 28, 2025, to select a city from the three they chose during application, along with a preferred date and shift. For regional language candidates, slot options may be limited.

“Candidates can choose on any available date a specific shift at a city as per their choice. It is to be noted that for the candidates who have opted to take the examination in regional languages, the choices of dates and shifts may be limited,” the commission said.

Alternative cities for fully booked slots

The commission further states that if all slots in the initially opted cities are filled, candidates will be provided a list of alternative cities. The commission will assign a slot on a best-effort basis, without guaranteeing specific dates or shifts. Candidates should choose their slots carefully, as no changes will be allowed after submission.

“In respect of those candidates, who do not exercise the option of date, city and shift during the prescribed window for the CHSLE, Confidential i.e. from 22nd October to 28th October, it is hereby informed that it will be inferred by the Commission that such candidates do not intend to appear for the examination,” the official notice said.
