AIBE 20 Question Paper: Constitutional Law, CrPC, CPC carry highest weightage; topic-wise number of questions

Download NowThe Bar Council of India (BCI) will conduct the All India Bar Examination -XX (AIBE 20) on November 30 in pen-and-paper format. Three topics – Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Civil Procedure – carry the highest weightage in the AIBE 20 exam, as per the BCI syllabus.
The AIBE is a certification exam conducted twice a year by the Bar Council of India to award the certificate of practice to qualifiers. The exam assesses basic-level knowledge for entering into legal practice, in addition to their analytical skills.
The BCI recently issued the AIBE admit card 2025 on the official website, allindiabarexamination.com. As per the exam timings, the exam will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm, with entry beginning at 11.30 am. The question paper will include English as a common language.
AIBE will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. General and OBC candidates will have to obtain a minimum of 45% to qualify and SC, ST, and PwD candidates will have to score 40%.
AIBE XX Syllabus: High weightage topics
According to the AIBE 20 syllabus, Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and (New) Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) will have 10 questions each – the highest weightage, together accounting for a larger portion of the 100 questions.
In addition to this, Indian Penal Code (IPC) and (New) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Evidence Act and (New) Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, Family Law, and Law of Contract, Specific Relief, Property Laws, Negotiable Instrument Act carry the second-highest weightage — 8 questions each.
These seven topics carry over 60% weightage of the total paper, making them the most important topics in the final week preparation.
