Those in the age group of 21-24 years are eligible to apply for the scheme, which is being implemented by the corporate affairs ministry through the portal 'www.pminternship.mca.gov.in'.
PM Internship scheme portal is live now for registration. Interns will get monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000 for 12 months and a one-time grant of Rs 6,000.
Candidates seeking internship opportunities can register in the portal from the second week of October. The interns will be provided a financial aid of Rs 5,000 per month.
Colleges endorse 10-12 months long internships for students to be industry-ready. The expected monthly stipend for full-time internships ranges from Rs 15,000-Rs 40,000.
The top three colleges with the highest internship placement records were Paavai Engineering College, Tamil Nadu, Parul Polytechnic Institute, Vadodara, and St Xavier's College, Kolkata.
Budget Speech: The internship programme will be closed to graduates of IITs, IIMs, IISERs, CA and CMA professionals.
