Board Exams 2026 LIVE: CBSE students demand change in date sheet; WBBSE, MPBSE schedule out

A group of Class 12 private students has filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court, opposing CBSE’s decision to cancel the post-Class 12 additional subject exam. They argue the move has disrupted career planning and left students with no formally recognised alternatives.

Several students appearing for CBSE 2026 board exams have raised concerns over minimal gaps between major papers, especially science subjects.

CBSE has reminded affiliated schools to complete the LOC for both Class 10 and 12 board exams by Sept 30. The submission of LOC for all modes of payment of fees except challan without late fees should be completed by Sept 30. 

According to the CBSE's guidelines, the evaluation of answer scripts will begin approximately 10 days after the exam is conducted and will be completed within 12 days. 

The CBSE board has clarified that special exam for Class 10 sports and olympiad students will be held along with the second board exams in May. CBSE has asked schools to make sure that sports and Olympiad candidates fill the LOC for Class 10 and 12 board exams. Students are allowed to take the second exams for the subjects whose exam dates coincide with their event.

CBSE has introduced several key changes for the 2025-26 board exams. These include mandatory linking of students' APAAR IDs, revised exam registration fees, and a strict requirement of 75% attendance for students appearing in Class 10 and 12 board exams. Additionally, the board has approved Onboarding Assessments (OBAs) for Class 9 students.

Karnataka SSLC, 2nd PUC exam 2 2026 from April 25

The MP Board Class 12 practical exams 2026 are scheduled for normal (regular) students from February 10 to March 10, 2026, and for normal (private) students between February and March 2026.

The Assam government postponed the half-yearly school examinations scheduled to begin on September 20, 2025, following the death of singer Zubeen Garg. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu announced the decision as a mark of respect. The revised schedule is yet to be officially released. However, reports suggest that the half-yearly exams for Classes 1 to 10 may commence from October 8, 2025, with a detailed timetable to be issued shortly.

CBSE recently approved open book exams for Class 9 from the 2026-27 academic session. The decision has been taken in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE).

CBSE has issued a reminder for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for board exams 2026. As per the schedule issued earlier, the last date to submit the details of candidates without a late fee is September 30. 

Today is the last day for students of non-government-aided schools appearing for Bihar Board Class 10 exams 2026 to upload their dummy registration card on the official website, secondary.biharboardonline.com. Those who fail to upload the card will not get the original registration card without which they cannot fill the exam application.

Students are unhappy with CBSE date sheet 2026 for Class 10, 12 board exams as they have complained that there are no gaps between major papers like science. Candidates have urged the board to revise the exam dates for preparation.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced the UPMSP academic calendar 2025-26 recently. As per the dates mentioned, UP Board practical exams 2026 will be conducted from January 21 to February 5.

After CBSE, five state boards including Haryana board (HBSE), Chhattisgarh board (CGBSE), Himachal Pradesh board (HPBOSE), Nagaland board (NBSE), and Uttarakhand board (UBSE) have decided to include competency-based questions in annual exams and create question banks for teachers to use.

In some relaxation to APAAR ID rule, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has allowed schools to submit the List of Candidates (LoC) for Class 10, 12 board exams 2026 without the ID, by making ‘refused’ or ‘not generated’ entries. The announcement came after the central board received representations from various schools across citing technical issues in generating APAAR IDs for students such as mismatch in data, delay in correction, along with a lack of parental consent.

Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the applications for the scheme and renewal of scholarship awarded last year. Eligible students can apply for the merit-based scholarships by October 23 on the official website, cbse.gov.in.

As per the eligibility, the scholarship scheme is for meritorious single girl students, who are the only children of their parents, and have passed Class 10 board exams with 60% and above. 

The grant amount to Rs 500 per month under the scholarship.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the date sheet for Class 10 and 12 board exams 2026. As per the announced schedule, the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will begin from February 17. 

After the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), now around five state boards have developed question banks for teachers to use in school exams. The change in the exam pattern aims to familiarise students with competency-based questions.

Moreover, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Uttarakhand boards have also completed their question banks and are currently being examined by PARAKH.
