BPSC clarifies total 14,261 candidates qualified for 71st CCE prelims exam; calls reports misleading, asks students to only rely on official website
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a formal clarification rejecting a news report published in Dainik Bhaskar’s November 19, 2025, edition on the 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE). The newspaper had reported that 13,368 applicants were selected for the physical efficiency test, and 893 were declared eligible for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The BPSC called the report "completely false, misleading and baseless", saying the figures cited in the report did not match official exam data.
According to an official BPSC statement, 13,368 candidates successfully qualified for 1,219 posts under the 71st CCE (prelims exam), while 893 candidates qualified for 79 financial administrative officers’ posts – bringing the total 14,261 successful candidates, not DSP positions as the newspaper claimed.
