BPSC 71st CCE prelims rescheduled to September 13; assistant branch officer exam on September 10

BPSC 71st CCE Exam 2025: The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,264 vacancies across various state departments. The recruitment also includes 41 posts of assistant branch officers.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has revised the exam dates for the 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) preliminary and the Assistant Branch Officer exam 2025. According to the latest notification, the BPSC 71st CCE prelims will now be held on September 13, and the assistant branch officer exam will now take place on September 10.
The BPSC 71st CCE prelims exam was initially scheduled for September 10, while the assistant branch officer exam was to be held on September 13. However, the commission has swapped the exam dates due to unavoidable circumstances.
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, there has been a partial revision in the schedule of the Integrated 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination and the Assistant Branch Officer Examination,” the commission said.
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 1,264 vacancies through the BPSC 71st CCE exam 2025. The commission had earlier announced 1,250 vacancies under various state government departments. A total of 14 additional posts of deputy superintendent of police were later added following a requisition from the home department (Police branch), Patna.

The recruitment also includes 41 posts of assistant branch officers. The BPSC 71st CCE selection process includes three stages: preliminary exam, mains and interview. Final selection is based on marks obtained in the mains and interview.
Meanwhile, the registration process for the special school teacher recruitment exam 2025 is also ongoing. The BPSC is conducting the recruitment to fill 7,279 vacancies, including 5,534 posts for the primary level (Classes 1 to 5) and 1,745 posts for the upper primary level (Classes 6 to 8). Eligible candidates can register on the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in, till July 28.
