NEW DELHI: In yet another controversy, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 70th CCE Prelims 2024 exam was allegedly leaked at an examination centre following protests by candidates. However, the commission denied reports of a BPSC paper leak. The 70th Combined Competitive Examination was held today, December 13, for around five lakh aspirants at 945 exam centres across the state.
In several videos shared on social media, a large number of aspirants can be seen gathered outside an examination centre in Patna’s Bapu Sabhagar. Some candidates told reporters that they were not given question papers while others claimed that the seal of test booklets was already broken.
Responding to the BPSC paper leak news, the founder of an online learning app for government exams said in a post on X, “70th BPSC PT exam also seems to be falling prey to paper leak!
Today, the prestigious commissions of our country have failed to solve even a single paper correctly! Even before this, in 2022, the commission had canceled the 67th BPSC exam due to paper leak!”

Meanwhile, a video went viral on social media where Patna DM can be seen slapping a candidate protesting against the alleged rigging in exam. Pulling up the ruling government over the incident, Congress said in a Hindi post: “In Bihar, the youth associated with the BPSC exam were protesting against the allegation of rigging in the exam. He wanted to convey his message to the government. The government sent its beloved IAS officer among these students with the instructions to take good care of them. This is the slapping DM of Patna. He is so intoxicated with power that he treats the public like insects. They have got this arrogance and intoxication from the government, for which the public does not matter."
Recently, Bihar police cautioned aspirants that fraudsters might spread misinformation or try to sell fake answers to them. Meanwhile, BPSC chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai said that the BPSC Prelims exam 2024 will be held as per schedule on December 13. He denied rumours being spread on social media that the exam may get postponed in view of protests against an alleged change in the rules.
The commission earlier rubbished the complaints related to glitches in the application portal and called the allegations ‘baseless’. Aspirants had been demanding an extension of the BPSC 70th CCE exam date claiming that lakhs of students could not fill the forms due to server issues. BPSC also announced to conduct the exam as per old exam pattern and on a single day after the candidates urged for ‘one shift, one paper’ and opposed the normalisation method.
