BPSC TRE 4.0 latest update: Notification, registration, and exam timeline have been announced. This comes after months of protests in Bihar.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will release the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0) notification by April 19. Registration will begin on April 25, and exams will be conducted between September 22 and 27 to fill 46,882 teacher posts. This announcement comes after repeated protests by aspirants demanding clarity on vacancies.
It all started in September 2025 when, at a press conference, State Education Minister Sunil Kumar said the BPSC TRE recruitment would be announced within the next five days. He added that vacancy details from almost all districts had already been received for the process. The minister also highlighted that the process would be carried out with transparency and efficiency, saying that submitting the vacancies to BPSC within five days was an important step toward starting the recruitment.
Bihar TRE-4 was expected to be conducted between December 16 and December 19, 2025, with results likely to be announced between January 20 and January 24, 2026. The total number of vacancies was estimated at around 26,000 to 27,000.

Protest, arrest spark tension
Hundreds of BPSC aspirants staged protest in Patna in October 2025, demanding the release of the Bihar TRE 4.0 notification. The agitation came amid growing demands for 1.2 lakh teacher vacancies. Tensions escalated after student leader Dileep Kumar was arrested in Darbhanga ahead of a planned demonstration in Patna, triggering strong reactions on social media. Supporters criticised the arrest, calling it an attempt to suppress student voices.
Aspirants alleged that while the education department had earlier indicated over 1.20 lakh vacancies, the Bihar Public Service Commission had later announced a much lower number of around 26,000 posts. They also pointed to discrepancies linked to earlier BPSC TREs, including allegations of paper leak in TRE 3.

The protests coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s launch of a Rs 62,000 crore youth development package, including skill development initiatives and ITI upgrades. The timing drew mixed reactions on social media. Some users even questioned the government’s focus.
Before this, BPSC TRE 3.0 results were released for Classes 9 and 10 across various subjects, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Persian, Sanskrit, Arabic, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Physical Education, Dance, Maithili, Lalit Kala, and Music on December 17, 2024.
Aspirants are now advised to keep an eye on BPSC official website for downloading BPSC TRE 4.0 notification PDF.
