NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the registration window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1. Eligible candidates can apply for the JEE Main January 2025 session by visiting the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in. The deadline for registration is November 22. The session 1 exams are scheduled from January 22 to 31, while session 2 will take place from April 1 to 8.

The Vellore Institute of Technology has also commenced the registration process for the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2025 exam. The VITEEE 2025 will be conducted between April 21 to 27. The VITEEE 2024 registration deadline is March 31. The VITEEE 2025 registration link is active at viteee.vit.ac.in.
Similar to JEE Main, several other national and state-level exams provide pathways to top engineering colleges in India. These include VITEEE for VIT University, SRMJEEE for SRM Institute, and MET for Manipal University. Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The BITSAT 2025 exam date is likely to be announced today.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has announced that the Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering AEEE 2025 phase 1 will be conducted on February 1 and 2. The AEEE 2025 registration has been extended to January 20, earlier it was January 7.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has started registration for its Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2025, with the application form now available on the official website, manipal.edu. The MET 2025 registration deadline is March 15, and the exam dates are yet to be announced.
Additionally, state-level exams like MHT CET (Maharashtra), KCET (Karnataka), WBJEE (West Bengal), and AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh) offer access to engineering programmes within their states. These exams are alternatives for students aiming for reputable engineering institutions beyond the IITs and NITs.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) will conduct the Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Pharmacy (KEAM) 2025 from April 24 to April 28, as per media reports.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has also announced the GUJCET 2025 exam date. The GUJCET 2025 exam will be held on March 23, 2025. GUJCET 2025 registration will open on January 25. The GUJCET 2025 registration deadline is February 25.

Approximately 30,000 BTech seats in Karnataka remained unfilled even after the KCET 2024 and COMEDK 2024 counselling processes. The last date to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 is November 22. To complete the JEE Main application form for 2025, candidates must submit a photograph, signature, marksheet, and other necessary documents. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2025 application form, which includes details on the required documents along with their respective file sizes and formats for registration.
The marking scheme for the exam is as follows: candidates will receive three marks for each correct answer and lose one mark for each incorrect answer in all sections, including physics, chemistry, English proficiency, logical reasoning, and mathematics/biology. The exam has a total of 450 marks.
MHT CET 2025 will be held for admission to BTech programmes offered by engineering colleges throughout Maharashtra. Based on trends from previous years, the registration process is anticipated to begin in January. Candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination and hold Indian nationality are eligible to apply for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. According to the exam pattern, the question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions and will include three papers, each carrying 100 marks.
The VITEEE 2025 exam pattern includes a total of 125 questions, divided across different subjects: mathematics or biology with 40 questions, physics with 35, chemistry with 35, aptitude with 10, and English with five.
The exam duration will be two hours and 30 minutes. Candidates will earn one mark for each correct response, with no marks deducted for incorrect answers, as there is no negative marking.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has maintained the 75% criterion for the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main 2025). The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reduced the number of international exam cities for JEE Main 2025 from 24 to 14. New cities added this year include Bahrain, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Germany, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the UAE, as well as Washington, D.C.
Conversely, several locations have been removed from this year's list, including Sri Lanka, Qatar, Dubai in the UAE, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) began the registration process for MET 2025 on October 14. Aspirants can submit their applications for the Manipal Entrance Test through the official website, manipal.edu. Candidates who have completed Class 12 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are eligible to apply.
Approximately 30,000 BTech seats are vacant in engineering colleges across Karnataka despite multiple rounds of counselling for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) and the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK) 2024. These entrance tests are conducted for admission to engineering programmes in state colleges. The vacant seats are attributed to a significant increase in the number of seats available and a rise in fees. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) lifted the ban on establishing new engineering colleges a year ago.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducts the WBJEE for admission to engineering and other programmes at colleges throughout the state. The exam consists of two papers, with the question paper featuring multiple-choice questions totaling 200 marks. To be eligible for JEE Mains 2025, candidates are required to have passed Class 12 in 2023, 2024 or 2025.
