CBSE postpones orientation on entrance exams, career pathways in Shahjahanpur amid rising water levels

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponement the orientation programme on entrance exams and career pathways scheduled for August 19, 2025. The decision follows an advisory issued by the Officer-in-Charge (Floods), Sharda Canal Division, Shahjahanpur, which highlighted rising water levels in the region.

The orientation programme was scheduled to be held at Seth MR Jaipuria School in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The programme, initially planned to guide students on competitive examinations and career planning, will now be rescheduled to a later date. The Board has stated that the revised date will be communicated in due course.

Officials noted that student safety remains a priority, and the decision reflects precautionary measures in response to potential flooding risks in Shahjahanpur. “In view of the Advisory dated 11.08.2025 issued by the Officer-in-Charge (Floods), Sharda Canal Division, Shahjahanpur, regarding rising river water levels in the region, the Board has decided to postpone the above program,” the official notice said.

CBSE has requested schools and participants to direct any queries regarding the programme to the email address cbsecareer.counseling@gmail.com. “We regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. The revised date will be notified in due course,” the notice further said.

CBSE also recently conducted surprise inspections in 10 schools across Assam, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha to ensure compliance with Board norms. Teams checked student enrolment, academic standards, and infrastructure, with further action planned for identified violations.
