CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024: Registration extended till January 10; eligibility criteria, amount

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has extended the registrations for Single Girl Child scholarship 2024 and renewal of 2023 scholarships. The Single Girl Child scholarship 2024 registration form can be submitted till January 10. Earlier, the registration deadline was December 23.

Eligible students can apply for the CBSE Single Girl Child scholarship 2024 and Single Girl Child scholarship 2023 (renewal) by visiting the official website, cbse.gov.in. As per the official notice, the verification of CBSE Single Girl Child scholarship application by the schools is scheduled till January 17,

CBSE Single Girl Child scholarship amount

The CBSE Single Girl Child scholarship amount is set at Rs 500 per month. Candidates are required to provide their complete bank details, including the bank's name, account number, RTGS and NEFT information, IFSC code, and the bank's address. It is mandatory for all applicants to sign their CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship applications, as any unsigned submissions will be disqualified.

CBSE Single Child Scholarship 2024: Eligibility criteria

The scholarship is only for meritorious female students who are the only child of their parents.

• Students are required to have scored 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class 10 exam.
• Students are required to be currently studying in CBSE Class 12 or 11.
• The tuition fee of the school is required to be under Rs 1,500 per month during the academic year.
• A maximum 10% annual increase in tuition fees is permitted for the subsequent two years.
• NRI applicants are eligible, with a tuition fee cap of Rs 6,000 per month for schools abroad.
• The scholarship is open only to Indian nationals.

CBSE Single Child Scholarship 2024: required documents

Required documents include an attested copy of the Class 11 mark sheet, a copy of Aadhaar (linked to the applicant's bank account), and a copy of the bank passbook or a canceled cheque, duly attested. Eligible students can apply under the following schemes:

Single Girl Child Scholarship X 2024 scheme: This scholarship is open to single girl children who have passed Class 10 in 2024 from CBSE and are currently studying in Class 11 in CBSE-affiliated schools.

Single Girl Child Scholarship X 2023 (Renewal 2024) scheme: This scheme invites renewal applications for students who were awarded the scholarship in 2023.
