CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship: Schools will verify the submitted applications till February 15.
NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has further extended the last date to register for the Single Girl Child Scholarship till February 8, 2025. Eligible students can apply for the scholarships and renewal on the official website, cbse.gov.in. With the extension of application submission deadline, schools will now verify the applications till February 15, 2025.
Earlier, the board extended the last date for registration till January 10. Under the scheme, girl students who are the only child of their parents, having passed Class 10 exam with 60% and above are given an amount of Rs 500 per month. Awardees will be paid for a maximum of two years.
CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024: Eligibility criteria
As per the eligibility critieria, the following female students will be eligible for CBSE scholarship:
- Girl students who have secured 60% marks in Class 10 and are studying in Class 11 or 12 with tuition fee not more than Rs 1,500 per month.
- Non-Residential Indian (NRI) students having a tuition fee of not over Rs 6,000 per month.
- Indian nationals
- Those who have passed CBSE Class 10 exam in 2019

The scholarship awarded to a student will be renewed for a period of one year, upon successful completion of Class 11. Renewal of scholarship will also depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examination.
The renewal of the CBSE scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if she changes the school or course of study, will be subject to prior approval of the board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship.
