CBSE Class 10, 12 syllabus 2024-25 out; board restores two-level mathematics rule

Students opting mathematics - basic in Class 10 will have the option of taking applied mathematics (241) as an elective in Class 11 and not mathematics (041).
Students can access the subject-wise CBSE Class 10 syllabus for the 2025–26 academic session.
Check NowNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has uploaded the CBSE Class 10, 12 syllabus for the academic session 2024-25. The CBSE curriculum and internal assessment details are now available on the board’s official website, cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic.nic.in.

The CBSE Board has also published the CBSE syllabus and other assessment details in Hindi as well. Students will be able to access the curriculum in both English and Hindi now.
All the CBSE schools were asked to review the National Credit Framework prepared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in an effort to make school education flexible, multi-disciplinary to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The credit system proposed to increase the number of compulsory subjects and learning hours.
“The recent focus of CBSE is on developing 21st-century skills in settings where each student feels independent, safe, and comfortable with learning.” In this regard, the board said that “it is essential that children acquire adequate knowledge and skills in other core areas like health and physical education, life skills, values education, art education, financial literacy, digital literacy, and work education.
CBSE Class 10 syllabus 2024
There are five compulsory subjects and two optional subjects for Class 10 students. The board exam for mathematics is held at two levels in Class 10. Students opting mathematics - basic will have the option of taking applied mathematics (241) as an elective in Class 11 and not mathematics (041). However, those who have opted mathematics - standard will be able to choose any of the two available mathematics subjects in the senior secondary level.
