Chandigarh University UP signs pact with 10 global, Indian firms to provide UG, PG courses

Google, Microsoft, IBM, SAS, Rabbitt AI, Quick Heal, KPMG, PWC, NSE Academy, and Grant Thornton have signed an agreement with the Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh to provide students with the industry-driven expertise into academic programmes.
NEW DELHI: The Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh (CU UP) has signed agreements with 10 global and Indian multinational companies to offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The agreement will provide 15 industry collaborative programs including 8 UG and 7 PG courses in engineering, business and commerce, and computer applications, as per the official statement.
The UG courses offered by the Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with international and national firms include BTech CSE (AI and ML), BTech CSE cloud computing and data science, BBA (fintech), BBA (fintech) with ACCA, BCom with ACCA, BCA (data science), BTech civil engineering and BTech (cyber security) with Com TIA, the university said.
The university will also start PG courses in MTech (AI and ML), MCA (AI and ML), MBA (DS and AI), MBA in applied finance, MBA (fintech), MBA in business analytics and MBA (BA).
Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, managing director of Chandigarh University, said: “With these strategic partnerships, the University is re-defining higher education by merging classroom learning with real-world exposure as preparation for future job market in the global economy. Satnam Singh Sandhu, member of parliament, Rajya Sabha, chancellor of Chandigarh University, along with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), and vice presidents of the 10 companies also took part in the event.
Sandhu emphasised on the career scope in artificial intelligence (AI), and said that as per surveys, the Indian IT industry is expected to see a 40% increase in AI-related job roles in next 5 years.
“AI-augmented Chandigarh University Lucknow campus will be instrumental in catering to this job market base by training its students in deep technologies like AI. These collaborations with industry giants will be pivotal in nurturing a futuristic workforce at Chandigarh University Lucknow,” Sandhu added.
As part of the curriculum, the students will get exposure in high-tech industry-sponsored R&D labs and Leading-edge Centres of Excellence (CoEs), with high-octane industry leaders facilitating job placement opportunities for students at graduation, the university said.
"They would also be sponsored by industry-linked programs for their internship experience at prestigious global and Indian firms, further broadening their technical scope and providing insight into actual industry challenges. In these peer-learning programs, students get the chance to contribute to solving real-life industry challenges thereby acquiring greater skills and employability," it added.
The industry professionals and academic faculty of the CU UP campus will provide “with the perspective of a comprehensive industry-driven future-ready curriculum" through the collaborations.
“While it integrates the very latest technologies into industry trends and best practices, it will achieve a plausible synergy to bring students closer to the experience of hands-on real-world learning during industry-sponsored live projects,” the university said.
