CCS University Convocation 2025: The Governor distributed 245 medals to 187 students. She directed the university to keep the campus drug-free and distributed 300 Anganwadi and health kits in Hapur.
Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut hosted its 37th convocation under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of State Universities, Anandiben Patel. The university conferred a total of 1,19,907 degrees and 245 medals to 187 students. The university has also uploaded all degrees to DigiLocker for students’ digital access.
The Governor congratulated the degree and medal recipients and said that the medals represent the students’ hard work and responsibility towards society and the nation. She urged students to use their knowledge for public welfare and national interest.
She stated, “The degree being received today is not just a certificate, but a reminder of the students' responsibilities towards society and the nation.” The governor also inaugurated various university buildings online and donated books for a primary school library during the convocation ceremony.
As per the official press release, the Governor directed the university to keep the campus free from drugs and intoxication. She asked the Vice-Chancellor to inspect hostels, organise workshops, and motivate students in this regard. She also instructed that no outside items should be brought into the campus without inspection.
During the convocation ceremony, the Governor distributed 300 Anganwadi kits and health kits to Anganwadi centres in Hapur district. She praised the work of Anganwadi workers and stressed their responsibility in child and maternal care.
She also directed the university to arrange for smart classes in the five adopted villages and to train the teachers there on how to use the smart classes correctly.
The Governor called for joint efforts of society, administration, and universities to run a campaign for HPV vaccination of girls. She directed officers of Hapur district to vaccinate the daughters of police personnel and expand the campaign in schools. She mentioned that recently, 300 daughters of police personnel in Lucknow and 500 in Kanpur were vaccinated.
During her inspection of the university, the Governor directed improvements in hostel cleanliness, installation of washing machines, and extension of library hours. She asked students to study in the library instead of using mobile phones.
The Governor noted that the university has established model colleges, introduced an electronic file system, and received an A++ grade in NAAC assessment. She also mentioned its rank in NIRF and recognition in global rankings.
“The Governor also praised the university's Raja Mahendra Pratap Library, saying that it has a system for quick information about books through modern technology and kiosks. The collection of newspapers from 1973 to date and a compilation of over 6,500 spiritual texts make it unique,” the official press release said.
Chief guest TG Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education, said that convocation marks the start of a new phase for students. He emphasised the role of youth in national development, the use of modern technology, and the importance of the National Education Policy 2020.
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that students should combine personal achievement with service to society and the nation. Minister of State for Higher Education, Rajni Tiwari, encouraged students, particularly girls, to contribute to family and nation-building.
Vice-Chancellor Sangeeta Shukla, Registrar Anil Kumar Yadav, members of the Executive and Academic Councils, deans, teachers, parents, Anganwadi workers, schoolchildren, and other guests also attended the Chaudhary Charan Singh University 37th convocation.
