Model schools to be set up in all districts; textbook, bicycle distribution on priority: Chhattisgarh minister

Chhattisgarh minister Gajendra Yadav instructed officials to submit details of schools eligible to be developed into model schools within 10 days.
Model schools will be established in all districts of Chhattisgarh to ensure quality education, school education minister Gajendra Yadav announced during a departmental review meeting held on Thursday.
The meeting, attended by senior officials, reviewed ongoing departmental activities and focussed on formulating a roadmap for upcoming initiatives.
The minister instructed officials to submit details of schools eligible to be developed into model schools within 10 days, adding that DAV, Ignite, and PM Shri schools would also be upgraded.
He also took note of the number of schools without buildings and those that require new facilities, and asked the officials to repair dilapidated buildings "promptly”. Minor and toilet repairs, he said, should be completed on priority.
Emphasizing the need for timely student support, the minister said that free textbooks, uniforms, and bicycles should be distributed as soon as schools reopen for the new academic session.
Show-cause notice to district education minister
Gajendra Yadav directed senior officials to issue a show-cause notice to the district education officer of Manendragarh, Chirmiri, Bharatpur for negligence in administrative work.
He also reviewed the Chief Minister's Education Quality Enhancement Campaign, known as Mukhyamantri Shiksha Gunvatta Abhiyan, and stressed the need to focus on achieving better exam results in Classes 5, 8, 10, and 12 .
The minister also directed officials to obtain details of pending court cases within the department and address them on priority.

Implementation of NEP 2020
He held a detailed discussion on central scholarship schemes, opening bank accounts for students, and their caste certificates. Following this, the minister directed that the service records and passbooks of all employees be updated by November. He also ensured that timely payment of benefits to dependents of deceased employees and retired employees be ensured.
As part of the implementation of NEP 2020 , the state government is planning to promote the PM e-Vidya Channel and the DIKSHA portal to expand digital access and education on a large scale so that students can benefit from modern resources.
Reviewing the ongoing activities related to the establishment of new District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) in Surguja and Gariyaband, and the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, he stated that the provisions of the new education policy should be effectively implemented in the state to further strengthen the quality of education.
