The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore, which has been ranked India's top law school, will admit students to its LLB and LLM programmes through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026.

For seven consecutive years, NLSIU has been securing the position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The institute will be offering 310 undergraduate and 120 postgraduate seats through CLAT this year.

CLAT 2026 application form is out on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Eligible aspirants can apply for the law entrance test by October 31.

NLSIU Bangalore: UG admissions through CLAT 2026

The institute reserves 15 seats for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), 90 seats for women, 75 for Karnataka students.

Who’s eligible for Karnataka students category?

Candidates who have studied for not less than 10 years in a recognized educational institution in Karnataka shall be eligible to be considered as ‘Karnataka Students.’ Those who have not completed the decade but children of defence personnel or ex-servicemen, employees of state government, serving or retired employees belonging to the Karnataka cadre of the All India Services (IAS/IFS/IPS), working or retired employees in the Central Armed Police Force service.

NLSIU Bangalore fees

The total fees at the law school is Rs 4,55,000 for students belonging to the general category and Rs 4,50,000 for the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories. The international students will be required to pay Rs 11,16,500.
