Candidates who faced issues during CLAT 2026, such as errors in marks computation or problems in counselling registration, can submit grievances through the official online portal. The portal opens at 5 pm on December 17, 2025, and will remain operational until 5 pm on December 24, 2025. Grievances submitted after this period will not be accepted.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has set up a Grievance Redressal Committee for CLAT 2026 candidates. The committee is chaired by MR Shah, former Supreme Court judge, and will examine grievances related to the conduct of CLAT 2026, excluding the correctness of the final answer key.

The counselling process allows candidates to exercise three options after seat allotment: Freeze, Float, or Exit. Freeze confirms the seat with payment of a non-refundable confirmation fee. Float allows retention of the seat while remaining eligible for higher-preference seats in subsequent rounds. Exit lets candidates leave the counselling process, with applicable fee forfeiture.

During CLAT 2026 counselling, candidates should submit their programme and college preferences. UG candidates can select at least 15 choices, while PG candidates can select a minimum of 5 choices. These selections will guide the seat allotment process across the five counselling rounds.

Parv Jain and Rohan Joshi have secured All India Ranks 2 and 3, respectively, in CLAT UG 2026. The exact marks for both candidates are yet to be released.

The counselling registration fee for general category candidates is Rs 30,000. For SC, ST, OBC, BC, EWS, and PwD category candidates, the fee is Rs 20,000. The registration will only be considered complete once the fee is paid before the deadline.

Geetali Gupta has secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in CLAT UG 2026 with 112.75 marks. She leads the merit list of candidates eligible for counselling at National Law Universities.

In CLAT 2026 UG, the topper Geetali, secured the highest score of 112.75 with AIR 1, while Shaurya Pratap Shahdev scored 108.00, achieving AIR 22.

This year, 92,344 candidates registered for the CLAT 2026 exam. The overall attendance for CLAT UG was recorded at 96.83% and for CLAT PG 92.45% of the registered candidates appeared.
