CLAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to 5-year integrated undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 27 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) across the country.
The Consortium has announced that there are no changes in the CLAT 2027 syllabus or exam pattern . According to previous years' exam date trends, the CLAT examination will tentatively be held on the first or second Sunday of December 2026. The CLAT 2027 exam will be administered in offline (pen-and-paper) mode with 120 objective-type questions.

CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern: No Changes This Year
The Consortium of NLUs has not made any changes to the CLAT 2027 exam pattern. The exam will have 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from five sections. Candidates will get one mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the exam will be two hours, and it will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. Candidates should familiarise themselves with the exam pattern and marking scheme before starting their preparation.

CLAT LLM Eligibility Criteria 2027
Candidates can check the CLAT LLM Eligibility Criteria 2027 below:
- Candidates must have passed graduation in Law (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB) from a recognised university.
- They must have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC and ST candidates) in the qualifying examination. Further, candidates appearing in the final year of the LLB degree programme are also eligible.

UG CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check the UG CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria below:
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% for SC and ST students) from a recognised board or institution.
- Candidates who will appear in Class 12th board exams in April-May 2027 are also eligible to appear in the exam. However, the admission of such students will be subject to fulfilling the required eligibility criteria.
- Candidates who have completed a diploma or any other programme equivalent to Class 12th can also apply for the CLAT exam 2027.
