CM SHRI Admission Test 2025: Registration deadline extended to August 22; exam postponed to September 6

Delhi’s new CM SHRI Schools will feature AI-enabled libraries, AR/VR classrooms, smartboards, robotics labs, and biometric attendance, while DBSE schools are being phased out and shifted to CBSE affiliation.
NEW DELHI: The deadline for submitting online applications for 'CM SHRI Admission Test 2025' for classes 6,7 and 8 has been extended to August 22, the Delhi government said in a circular issued on Tuesday. According to the circular issued by the Directorate of Education, earlier the last date for form submission was set for August 15. However, considering the overwhelming response and requests from applicants and stakeholders the date has been pushed to 11.59 pm on August 22.
The date for conducting the CM SHRI Admission Test for academic session 2025-2026 has also been revised from August 30 to September 6, it said. The Delhi government is likely to inaugurate its newly announced CM SHRI Schools in September, an official said, as preparations to operationalise the institutions gather pace. The initiative, announced earlier this year, aims to offer high-quality, future-ready education in government schools. It is modelled after the Centre's PM SHRI Schools and will follow the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The CM SHRI Schools will implement the National Curriculum Framework 2023.

DBSE schools to move under CBSE
Each school will be equipped with AI-enabled libraries, smart classrooms featuring augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) tools, smartboards, biometric attendance systems and robotics laboratories to promote innovation among students. The Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) is also being phased out, and its affiliated schools will now be brought under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had allocated Rs 100 crore for the CM SHRI Schools in her budget speech earlier this year.
