The students allegedly attacked their fellow Bangladeshi peers on September 8. Weapons and narcotics were reportedly involved. Authorities say several victims were seriously injured and admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

The body was discovered by her roommate, and police confirmed no suicide note was left. Authorities have initiated an investigation, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The JU professors' body also called for stringent steps against the consumption of drugs and liquor on the campus and said no event should be allowed to continue beyond the permissible hours.
