Committee set up to suggest reforms in higher education: Punjab CM

Punjab: The committee of VCs will recommend exam and curriculum reforms and submit report in 60 days.
NEW DELHI: Punjab’s chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has constituted a committee comprising vice-chancellors of universities to suggest examination and curriculum reforms in higher education in the state. The committee will submit its report within 60 days to the state government.
The committee will be headed by Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Vice-Chancellor, Jaspal Singh Sandhu. It will look into the introduction of new courses and digital education and will submit its report within two months time.
Making the announcement, Punjab CM wrote on Twitter: “VCs to work out examination reforms and review curriculums, to scale up the quality of higher education in the state in line with the advances taking place across the world.”

Singh also digitally launched online courses started by GNDU, Amritsar, for the Punjabi diaspora settled across the globe.
Punjab CM also ordered the release of Rs 5 crore for establishing a language award to promote Punjabi.
