A total of 13,54,699 (13.54 lakh) students registered for the CUET 2025 seeking admission to central universities and other participating institutions. This year, the exam was held as a computer-based test (CBT) for a duration of 1 hour per paper.
The NTA conducted the CUET exam from May 13 to June 4 for 37 subjects, including 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and one general aptitude test. Students will be able to raise objections against the CUET answer key by June 20 by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question.
The subject experts will review the challenges raised by students and prepare the final answer key for computing the final results.
CUET UG 2025 total marks
Each CUET question paper has 50 compulsory questions carrying a total of 250 marks. Candidates were allowed to choose a maximum of five subjects, including languages and general aptitude test.
The domain-specific subjects were held based on the NCERT syllabus. To ensure equal opportunity for candidates, the question paper was prepared in 13 Indian languages -Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
CUET UG 2025 marking scheme
Students will be awarded marks in the following manner:
- Five marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
- One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Zero marks for unanswered questions.
If more than one answer is found to be correct, candidates who have marked the correct options will be given marks. In case none of the options are found correct, question is wrong or dropped, marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of whether they attempted the question or not.
The NTA will upload the CUET results 2025 along with the final answer key after the challenge window is closed. The CUET scores will be used by 284 universities across the country.
