Delhi EWS Admissions 2026: Applications open for nursery, KG, Class 1 in private unaided schools

Applicants can also apply for Delhi school admissions for EWS, DG, and CWSN children through the official websites at edudel.nic.in or edustud.nic.in, or ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in by March 16.
The Delhi Government has commenced the online application process for EWS, DG, and CWSN admission to nursery, Kindergarten (KG), and Class 1 in private unaided recognised schools across the Delhi region for the academic session 2026-27. The online application form can be accessed through the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi’s official website at ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in.
The application form for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) category children for admission to pre-school, pre-primary, and primary divisions will be available on the official portal until March 16, 2026.
Applicants can also apply for Delhi school admissions for EWS, DG, and CWSN children through alternate websites such as edudel.nic.in or edustud.nic.in.
Delhi EWS Admissions 2026: Eligibility
As per the eligibility criteria, for EWS category admission, children whose parents have a total annual income of less than Rs 5 lakh from all sources and who have been staying in Delhi are eligible to apply.
The DG category includes Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) - Non Creamy Layer, Orphan, Transgender and children with HIV. Admission to Delhi schools for those children will be made through a computerised lottery system for 22% seats under the Right to Education Act, 2009, as per the official notification.
While, the Delhi private unaided schools will have 3% seats for Children with Disability (CWSN) within the 25% seat reserved.
Applicants can file only single registration using one mobile number and all communication related to application or admission process will be made through the registered phone number.
“Only a single application shall be filed for a child by an applicant for online admission process. Multiple applications filed for a child shall lead to cancellation of candidature of the child, even after succeeding in the draw of lots for admission,” as per the notification.
