DTU launches BTech in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, VLSI; admissions through GATE for MTech courses

Delhi Technological University (DTU) has launched three Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes, including BTech in Data Science and Analytics, BTech in Cybersecurity, and BTech in VLSI Design and Technology. Each of the three programmes will have an intake of 60 seats. Admissions to these BTech programmes will be carried out through the Joint Admission Council.

The university has also introduced new postgraduate programmes, including a full-time Master of Technology (MTech) in Cybersecurity, MTech by Research in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and a full-time MTech by Research in Renewable Energy Systems, launched in partnership with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE).

This MTech in Cybersecurity programme will have 30 seats, and admissions will be through valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores. The programme aims to address the national demand for skilled professionals in areas such as digital forensics, ethical hacking, cyber law, and information security. The MTech in Cybersecurity programme, which spans two years, has its registration deadline set for July 11, 2025.

DTU, Houston partner for exchange

DTU has established a state-of-the-art laboratory to advance research and development in partnership with industries. Emphasising the university’s commitment to accessibility, Vice-Chancellor Prateek Sharma announced the expansion of DTU’s online education platform, which provides certificate courses lasting from a week to several months.

As part of its global outreach efforts, DTU has entered into an agreement with the University of Houston in the United States to promote student exchange programmes and with the South Asian University (SAU) to strengthen regional academic collaboration.

DTU has also introduced a Department of Geospatial Science and Technology to conduct research and training in areas such as remote sensing, GIS, GNSS and geospatial data analysis. The department will support projects related to disaster management, urban planning and environmental monitoring.

Speaking at a press conference, Sharma said, "Knowledge is the basic goal of our university. We are starting a computer literacy initiative in five villages to promote digital inclusion."
