GD Goenka University’s Agricultural Sciences School gets ICAR accreditation

NEW DELHI: The School of Agricultural Sciences of the GD Goenka University has been awarded accreditation by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The institute is the only private university in the NCR region to have secured the ICAR accreditation, an official statement said.
The ICAR is the country’s apex body for coordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture.

The university said the milestone ensures that GD Goenka University's bachelor's programme in agriculture consistently upholds the highest standards of education and industry relevance.
The School of Agricultural Sciences offers PG programme in agronomy, soil science, plant pathology, entomology, horticulture, extension education, genetics and plant breeding. It also awards PhD programmes in these programmes.
Expressing his enthusiasm regarding the achievement Managing Director of the GD Goenka Group Nipun Goenka said: “We are thrilled to have received the prestigious ICAR accreditation for our School of Agricultural Sciences. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to delivering excellence in agricultural education and research.”
Goenka added that the university was coming up with a state-of-the-art hydroponic facility, which will enable students to get hands-on training with the latest technology in the agriculture sector. “GD Goenka University is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders who will drive innovation, sustainability, and positive change in the industry," he said.
The recognition is a reflection of the institution's dedication to fostering knowledge, innovation, and sustainable practices that will contribute to the growth and advancement of the agricultural sector in the country and beyond, the university said.
The GD Goenka University was established at Gurugram in 2013. The university operates 10 schools in which over 5,000 students are studying. It is recognised by UGC, BCI and ICAR.
