Shashi Tharoor attends ceremony as chief guest, awards gold medals to 16 meritorious students at Great Lakes Institute

Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) hosted its convocation ceremony 2025 at its Mahabalipuram campus. Degrees were awarded to 700 students from technology, consulting, finance, manufacturing, public service, and entrepreneurship. The cohort included both full-time and executive learners.
The Great Lakes Institute batch saw a passing rate of 100%, with 30% of the graduates being female students. Gold medals were awarded to 16 meritorious students: 4 academic toppers, 4 domain toppers of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), and 4 domain toppers of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). The ceremony marked the 21st convocation of the institute.
Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor attended the event as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Debashis Sanyal, director of GLIM, Chennai, and Mohan Lakhamraju, chairperson of the institute.
Tharoor addressed the new graduates at GLIM, Chennai, with words of caution: “In a world shifting as this it's more important than ever that we know with startling clarity what our future must look like. We are living in a world in which societies are increasingly fractured but questions of identity and ideology appear to be driving us farther away from each other, where war and conflict are dominating our headlines again.”

Narendhar R, the academic topper at GLIM, said that, “This past year tested us in ways we could not have imagined, but it also showed us the strength of our community, the power of resilience, and the importance of staying true to our values.”
