Gujarat schools, colleges to remain shut tomorrow; GPSC entrance exam postponed

All colleges, schools, and anganwadis will remain shut tomorrow due to heavy rains and a red alert in several districts of Gujarat. All educational activities have been suspended in all government and private institutions. Also, due to heavy rainfall, the TAT HS 2026 state entrance exam has also been postponed.

This includes all Anganwadis, government and private primary and secondary schools, higher secondary schools, ITIs, colleges, private tuition classes/coaching classes, and all other private and public educational institutions.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall has been forecasted in the districts of Ahmedabad, Anand, Aravalli, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Dang, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Narmada, Navsari, Sabarkantha, Surat, Tapi, Vadodara, and Valsad in Gujarat. The government has advised people to remain vigilant, refrain from stepping out of their homes without reason, and take precautions.

Gujarat TAT HS 2026 exam rescheduled

The State Examination Board (SEB) has also rescheduled the Teacher Aptitude Test - Higher Secondary (TAT-HS 2026) main exam (Gujarati Medium). The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on August 2, but will now be conducted on August 8, 2026.

Considering the heavy rain forecast of the Meteorological Department in the entire state, the representation of the examinees, and the guidance of the government, the main examination has now been rescheduled, the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) circular said.

The board has further clarified that candidates may use their existing admit cards, and there is no requirement to download new ones. For more details related to the examination, students can check the official website at semexam.org .
