The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar, has announced the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET 2026) exam date for admission to engineering and pharmacy programmes after Class 12 science stream. Along with the GUJCET exam date 2026, the Board has also issued the exam pattern and marking scheme.

The GUJCET engineering entrance exam will be conducted on March 29, 2026. The online application form will be released later on the official website, gseb.org, along with the information bulletin, the Board said.
For the academic year 2026, the GUJCET exam will be held for group A, group B, and group AB students of the science stream. Candidates opting for physics, chemistry, and mathematics will fall under Group A, those appearing for physics, chemistry, and biology in group B, and applicants choosing to appear in all the four papers will be in group AB.
The exam will be conducted in district-level exam centres across Gujarat from 10 am to 4 pm on March 29.
Gujarat schools registered with the GSEB for the Class 12 science stream have implemented NCERT textbooks in physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Therefore, the current NCERT-based Class 12 science syllabus prescribed by the board will be used for the GUJCET exam 2026.
The GUJCET 2026 question paper will consist of multiple-choice objective-type questions, with each paper carrying 40 questions each. Although each subject paper will include 40 questions, the physics and chemistry paper will be held jointly for 2 hours, and mathematics and biology papers will be conducted separately for one hour each.

Last year, a total of 1,29,706 candidates registered for the GUJCET exam, of which a majority — 1,09,692 students — were from the Gujarat state board, followed by 17,789 CBSE students. Notably, 78,614 candidates opted for Gujarati medium, 49,996 for English, and only 1,096 for Hindi.
