HITS Chennai partners with Google Cloud & CloudReign to launch India’s first Elite Google Cloud Digital Campus and Genesis Cloud Lab for advanced tech learning and certifications.

The Hindustan Institute of Technology & Sciences (HITS), Chennai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Google Cloud and CloudReign Technologies, establishing India’s first Google Cloud Digital Campus (Elite Tier). The event also marked the inauguration of the Genesis Cloud Laboratory, a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster innovation, digital transformation, and next-generation research.
The event was attended by Siddharth Dalwadi, Regional Head, Google Cloud, who delivered the Chief Guest Address, along with Priyanka Priyadarshini, Regional Manager, Google for Education; Karan Talwar, Specialist, Google Workspace and Gemini; Lakshminarayanan N., Director – Strategic Alliances, CloudReign Technologies; and Dwarakanath Cheyyur, Co-Founder and Director, CloudReign Technologies. The Presidential Address was delivered by Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor of HITS.
The Genesis Cloud Laboratory will serve as an innovation hub, empowering students and faculty with advanced resources in cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. As part of the collaboration, students will gain access to Google Certification Programmes, a Google Cloud-integrated UG and PG curriculum, and opportunities for industry-linked projects, internships, and research collaborations.
Speaking on the occasion, Siddharth Dalwadi, Regional Head, Google Cloud, said, “This partnership with Hindustan Institute of Technology and Sciences allows the institute and Google Cloud to combine their respective strengths to create AI-powered digital tools and other immersive learning solutions for architecture and real-world digital applications. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor of HITS, added that the collaboration with Google Cloud focuses on transforming education to make students globally competent and industry ready.
“With the Genesis Cloud Laboratory, we are providing a platform where innovation begins, where ideas turn into solutions, and where our students will lead the future of the digital economy,” he said.
Further, Ashok George Verghese, Pro-Chancellor of HITS, commented, “HITS is building its first Elite Digital Campus with the help of Google Cloud.
