HP NEET PG counselling 2025 registration begins for MD, MS, DNB admissions; eligibility, fee details

The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) has begun the Himachal Pradesh National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (HP NEET PG) 2025 counselling registration process. To apply for the HP NEET PG 2025 counselling, candidates belonging to the General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories are required to pay an online application fee of Rs 3,600. Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are required to pay Rs 2,500.

Candidates from the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category are exempted from paying the fee. The university will announce the last date for submission of the online HP NEET PG 2025 application form separately.

HP NEET PG Counselling 2025: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the HP NEET PG counselling 2025 is given below.

• Candidates should hold an MBBS degree or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI).
• Candidates should have completed the compulsory rotating internship on or before July 31, 2025, as per the guidelines issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi.
• Candidates should have qualified NEET PG 2025 conducted by the NBE, securing at least the minimum qualifying percentile prescribed for their respective category.
• All admissions under the State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota will be made only through the Common/Centralised Counselling conducted by the designated State authority.

Under the HP NEET PG 2025 counselling, 66.67% of the State Quota seats are reserved for In-Service General Duty Officers (GDOs), while the remaining 33.33% are available for Direct Candidates. As per the official notification, in-service GDOs will not be eligible for admission to Management Quota seats in private medical colleges of the state.

Candidates applying under the direct quota should have obtained their MBBS degree from a medical college located in Himachal Pradesh. Those working on a regular or contractual basis but who do not meet the qualifying service criteria defined in the State Postgraduate Policy will also be treated as Direct Candidates, provided they satisfy all other prescribed eligibility conditions.

HP NEET PG 2025 Counselling Registration: Document specifications

Candidates applying for the HP NEET PG 2025 counselling are required to upload their photograph, signature, and other supporting documents in the prescribed format given below.

• The photograph should be recent, taken on or after October 1, 2025, and should not exceed 40 KB in size.
• The face should cover 80% of the frame, with both ears clearly visible against a plain white background.
• Spectacles are permitted only if used regularly; caps and goggles are not allowed.
• The signature should be in running handwriting (not in capital letters) using black ink on white paper, and the scanned file size should not exceed 20 KB.
• Both the photograph and signature should be uploaded in .JPEG or .JPG format.
• The uploaded images will be used on all official documents, including the registration card, admit card, evaluation form, and degree certificate.

The HP NEET PG 2025 counselling will be conducted in four rounds — Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a Stray Vacancy Round. Each round will include online registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and physical reporting at the allotted college. Upgradation and seat conversion rules will apply as per the guidelines issued by the university and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The HP NEET PG counselling is conducted for admission to postgraduate medical degree courses, including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and Diplomate of National Board (DNB). The counselling process will cover 50 per cent of state quota postgraduate seats in government medical colleges and all seats in private medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh.
