Hyderabad University ranks 801-850 in the world in QS World University Rankings 2025

Hyderabad University is ranked 335 in the 2025 edition compared to 372 in 2024 in the world in the ‘Citations per Faculty’ indicator.

NEW DELHI: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been ranked in the range of 801-850 in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2025. The UoH also improved in the "Citations per Faculty" indicator, ranking 335 in 2025 compared to 372 in 2024.

The 2025 edition of the QS World University Rankings, is released by global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds. According to the official press release, QS World University Rankings 2025 is the largest ever, evaluating 5,663 institutions and featuring 1,503 universities from 106 countries including 46 in India.

The rankings use a new methodology that includes three new metrics including sustainability, employment outcomes and international research network.

Reacting to the rankings, the vice chancellor of UoH, BJ Rao, said, “The University of Hyderabad is ranked 335 in the 2025 edition compared to 372 in 2024 in the world in the ‘Citations per Faculty’ indicator. Though this is good progress, we need to improve in the other parameters as overall ranking is also linked with global visibility, perception etc.”

According to the official press release, the 2025 edition of QS World University Rankings considers the distribution and performance of 17.4 million academic papers published between 2018 and 2022 and the 175.9 million citations received by those papers; they also account for the expert opinions of over 1.9 million academicians and over 660,000 employers around the world.
