The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has opened the choice filling facility for admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD courses. The council has also uploaded the revised brochure for the PG and PhD courses on the official website, icarcounseling.com.

Candidates who have a valid score in the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and meet the eligibility criteria set by ICAR will be eligible to register and fill choices from October 14 to October 17.

There are around 5,000 seats for UG, 3,489 for PG, and 2,130 for PhD courses. Through the counselling process, ICAR will allot candidates’ a university. Seat allotment to specific colleges will be done by the university.

As per the NTA results, a total of 27,384 candidates registered for PG, out of which 25,338 appeared. Moreover, a total of 11,116 aspirants applied for AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) out of which 9,940 took the exam.

“Against total number of ICAR seats available for a particular degree programme in a university, not more than 40% of ICAR seats from one State would be allocated to any one university in that Subject/programme under a particular category.”

Candidates with zero or negative marks will be barred from participating in the counselling process. As per the eligibility criteria for PG courses, candidates should hold a four-year bachelor’s degree in agriculture and allied sciences. However, for select courses at ICAR deemed universities like IARI and NDRI, a 3-year bachelor’s degree will be considered valid.

Those who fail to fill choices before the deadline will be allowed to participate in the mop-up or final round of counselling.
