IIFT holds 58th convocation ceremony; confers degrees to 709 students

IIFT: The institute awarded degrees to graduating students from MBA flagship programmes, MA Economics, PhD in management and economics, and other executive courses.
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) hosted its 58th convocation ceremony today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. IITF conferred degrees to 709 students of the flagship MBA in International Business, MBA in Business Analytics, MA Economics with specialisation in International Trade and Finance, PhD in Management and Economics, and executive courses.
According to the official IIFT press release, the ceremony was attended by Piyush Goyal, minister of commerce and Industry, government of India, as the chief guest, and was presided over by Sunil Barthwal the secretary of department of commerce, ministry of commerce and industry, and IIFT chancellor.
Goyal congratulated the graduating students of the Class of 2025 and highlighted the role of leaders in driving Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, to tackle challenges and seize global opportunities. He urged graduates to leverage their skills to make India smarter and competitive on the global stage.

IIFT’s 58th convocation ceremony
The minister emphasised the potential of artificial intelligence (AI), which can improve productivity in manufacturing, agriculture, trade, and services, reduce foreign technology dependence, and create new opportunities.
“Stressing the importance of inclusivity, he said AI and digital technologies offer a unique opportunity to bring more people up the economic ladder, empower MSMEs and strengthen the foundations of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Shri Goyal expressed confidence that the IIFT graduates would play a pivotal role in achieving the national goal of a developed India by 2047,” the official IIFT statement said.
Rakesh Mohan Joshi, the vice chancellor of IIFT, highlighted the institute's growing global engagement through collaborations with leading universities across Europe and Asia. Notably, students of IIFT have participated in exchange programmes at these institutions, while students have also come to study at the institute.
“He proudly noted that IIFT was globally ranked Number 1 in Networking in LinkedIn’s Top 100 MBA Programmes in the World (2024), a recognition that strongly demonstrates the power and excellence of IIFT students and further solidifies the institute’s position at the forefront of trade and commerce education,” the official IIFT statement adds.
