AIIMS, IIIT co-hosted a one-day AI hackathon for digitisation of medical diagnostics, patient care
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bibinagar hosted an ‘AI for healthcare’ hackathon, in collaboration with the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad. The top five teams will be given a seed grant of Rs 5 lakh, along with tech and research support from IIITH. They will also get access to an incubation track for mentoring and market discovery.
AIIMS partnered with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at IIITH to provide participants with one-on-one mentorship, expert lectures, guided business pitch preparation, and “idea-refinement workshops”. The event featured two pathways - one for medical practitioners, and the other for med-tech researchers.
The hackathon at IIIT Hyderabad saw the top five finalists bring out AI-powered ideas for smart dental diagnostics, post-RCT dental canal defect detection using machine learning (ML) and computer vision (CV), portable dental scanner, patient care app, and surgical planning technologies.
