Dubai, today, has provided the perfect launchpad to the ethos of ‘Indian in spirit, global in outlook’ by hosting the IIM Ahmedabad international campus, the Union education minister wrote on his X account.
Terming it as a ‘big leap’ towards globalisation of India’s education, Pradhan, on his official X account, expressed his honour at the inauguration of IIM Ahmedabad’s new Dubai campus by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The Crown Prince of Dubai has inaugurated a new campus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) in UAE. The IIM Ahmedabad campus in Dubai will select the best of India to the world, Pradhan said.
“This is another big leap towards globalisation of India’s education as envisioned by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodiji. Dubai, today, has provided the perfect launchpad to the ethos of ‘Indian in spirit, global in outlook’ by hosting the IIM Ahmedabad international campus. Grateful to HH @HamdanMohammed for adding a glorious leaf to India-UAE knowledge collaboration,” the education minister added.

According to the official brochure, the launch of IIM Ahmedabad Dubai campus is ‘one more stride’ towards globalisation of Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
This is a new milestone in India-UAE relations, which will establish IIMA’s global leadership in management education. “IIM Ahmedabad Dubai campus is a living example of 'Indian in spirit, global in outlook' as envisioned in NEP 2020,” the brochure added.
Dharmendra Pradhan is on a two-day visit to the UAE, where he visited IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus and launched Atal Atal Incubation Centre (AIC). The minister also flagged off BTech and PhD programmes in Chemical Engineering and Energy and Sustainability at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus.
“He expressed his confidence that the students at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi will leave a trail and also create new milestones for global prosperity and well-being. The minister appreciated the colourful and creative 'rangoli' made by the students at the campus," according to the official statement.
Pradhan also met Sara Musallam, chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and discussed opening more Indian curriculum-based schools in the UAE to meet the educational needs of the Indian diaspora.
