IIM Jammu signs agreement with NHPC Limited for executive education and joint research

IIM Jammu will design courses for NHPC personnel and will provide opportunities to enrol in long-term programmes like Executive MBA.
The Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) signed an agreement with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited for advancement in executive education, capacity building, and research. NHPC Limited is a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
IIM Jammu will design executive development programmes for NHPC professionals, provide consulting solutions and opportunities for NHPC personnel to enrol in academic programmes like the Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
According to an official statement, the IIM Jammu-NHPC partnership will also promote summer internships, research initiatives, and knowledge-sharing platforms, including national and international conferences for “knowledge dissemination”. The two organisations aim to work on joint case studies with sponsored research projects.

IIM Jammu-NHPC agreement
Uttam Lal, director of personnel at NHPC Limited, said that “The agreement represents a significant milestone in NHPC’s ongoing pursuit of academic and professional excellence.” He appreciated IIM Jammu ’s “innovative and structured approach to capacity building” and expressed that this collaboration will lead to the realisation of NHPC’s long-term talent development goals.
The IIM Jammu-NHPC tie-up was formally signed by Kesavan Baskkaran, chief administrative officer of IIM Jammu, and Rajeev R. Asthana, general manager (HRD) of NHPC Limited. The ceremony took place at the NHPC Corporate Office in Faridabad. The officials in attendance included Rajesh Sikka, co-chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE and C), IIM Jammu, along with senior officials from NHPC.
Speaking about the IIM Jammu pact with NHPC Limited, BS Sahay, the director of the institute, said that the partnership will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, organisational development, and leadership training. He emphasised IIM Jammu’s “unwavering commitment” to nation-building through collaborations with public sector enterprises.
