IIM Mumbai awards degrees to 932 PG, 31 PhD, and 25 VLFM students at 2nd convocation

IIM Mumbai honoured 16 senior alumni for their contribution in professional fields. Nine young achievers were also recognised for their impact in various domains.

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) organised its 2nd convocation ceremony, today, conferring degrees upon 932 post graduates, 31 PhD, and 25 students from the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing Programme (VLFM). The degrees were awarded to the graduating batches of 2022-2024 and 2023-2025.

The institute also presented the Distinguished Alumni Awards to 16 senior alumni for their contributions in professional fields. Nine young achievers were also recognised for their impact in various domains, as reported by the Indian Express.

Shashi Kiran Shetty, chairman, IIM Mumbai, and founder and chairman, Allcargo Group, said: "IIM Mumbai continues to play a vital role in shaping responsible, innovative, and globally-minded leaders who can contribute meaningfully to industry, society, and nation-building. I sincerely thank our faculty, staff, and mentors for their guidance, and I am confident that the graduating classes will carry forward the institute’s legacy of nurturing exceptional leaders and entrepreneurs."

PK Mishra, principal secretary to the Prime Minister of India was the chief guest at the IIM Mumbai convocation. He encouraged the graduating students to ‘pursue excellence with responsibility.’ Mishra also urged graduates to use their education for the service of both industry and society.

Manoj Tiwari, director, IIM Mumbai said: “Our graduates are stepping into a dynamic and demanding world, and it fills us with pride to see their readiness to lead with knowledge and empathy. Dr. Mishra’s presence and words of wisdom provided immense inspiration, reminding our students of the deeper purpose of leadership in nation-building.”

Several industry leaders and experts from various industries also took part in the ceremony.
