NEW DELHI: In a significant shift in admission policy, the Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur) has decided that it will not be part of the Common Admission Process (CAP 2025). The institute will offer admission to candidates directly based on their Common Admission Test (CAT) score and personal interview.
The move from IIM Raipur came days after IIM Sabalpur announced its exit from CAP 2025. IIM Sabalpur has announced that a single admission process will be used for both the flagship MBA and the new MBA in Business Analytics programmes from the academic year 2025.
Both the IIMs will independently manage admission for its MBA programme and the similar process will also apply to the newly launched MBA in Business Analytics programme, which includes an option for a dual degree from an international institution.
IIM Raipur will begin the selection process for MBA admissions from the second week of January 2025 and the interview will be conducted between February 10 to March 9. The interview round will be conducted in eight cities across India - Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Guwahati, and Raipur.
By changing the admission process, IIM Raipur aims to offer applicants a streamlined and personalized application experience that underscores the institute's unwavering commitment to academics and innovation in management education, the official statement read.
Ram Kumar Kakani, director of IIM Raipur, said: “Our institute is committed to the holistic development of our students. Alongside academic excellence, we also present opportunities that nurture cross-cultural and emotional intelligence, innovation, and enhance entrepreneurial spirit.”

"With our decision to conduct an independent admission process, we aim to provide a more tailored and seamless experience for applicants, aligning with our vision to nurture talent and innovation. For instance, we will have at least one industry expert in our interview panel, we plan to do interviews across 8 cities including Guwahati and Lucknow – signifying our intent to reach the hinterlands of our nation,” Kakani further said.
“This will also ensure a larger social outreach to our flagship MBA program delivered by our high intellect faculty continues to set benchmarks in academic excellence, diversity, and industry relevance, empowering students to excel globally,” he added.
As per the placement data shared by the institute for the 2022-2024 batch, the highest CTC offered was Rs 42.29 lakhs per annum, while the average CTC stood at Rs 18.15 lakhs per annum.
