IIM Sambalpur invites applications for dual-degree doctoral programme

IIM Sambalpur is offering an Executive PhD and DBA programme in collaboration with France’s Bordeaux University.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has announced the launch of its dual-degree doctoral programme, Executive Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) programme for the academic year 2024-27, in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration (IAE) Bordeaux University School of Management, France.
IIM Sambalpur's three-year dual-degree programme is designed for working professionals, allowing them to pursue advanced academic qualifications and innovation without interrupting their careers. Applications, including a curriculum vitae, self-attested academic credentials, and a statement of purpose, must be submitted by June 15, 2024.
IIM Sambalpur Dual-Degree Programme: Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have at least five years of professional experience and a postgraduate degree. A relevant master's degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA), or a four-year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution is required for advanced doctoral-level research.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic history through transcripts, Grade Point Average (GPA) scores, and relevant achievements. Proficiency in English is essential for academic study, research, and communication.
Applicants must also articulate clear research interests or topics within management or related fields and provide a statement of purpose detailing their academic and professional background, research interests, career goals, and reasons for pursuing the doctoral degree.
Admission Process and Programme Details
Candidates will be shortlisted for IIM Sambalpur's dual-degree programme based on eligibility criteria for a personal interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the resume and interview performance.
The programme employs a hybrid delivery model, requiring students to attend at least three days of face-to-face classes at the IIM Sambalpur or Delhi campus and two weeks at the Bordeaux campus in France. Additionally, students can participate in a three-day academic writing workshop at Cambridge University, UK.
Mahadeo Jaiswal, director of IIM Sambalpur, highlighted that the executive PhD and DBA programme aim to equip students with sophisticated research methodologies that meet global standards. The dual-degree programme also has practical applicability and interdisciplinary approaches, providing rigorous, world-class training in various areas of business management, he added.
