IIT Delhi Placement Drive: Average salary declined in 2022-23 in comparison to 2021-22

IIT Delhi said more job offers were received during the campus placements drive 2022-23 in comparison to 2021-22.

Try NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, in reply to an RTI plea, said that the average CTC salary for domestics placements declined from Rs 23.8 lakh in 2021-222 to Rs 21.9 lakhs in 2022-24. However, more students got job offers during the IIT Delhi placement drive 2022-23 as compared to 2021-22.

The Right to Information plea was filed by Dheeraj Kumar Singh. IIT Delhi said the media salary offered during campus placement drive 2021-22 was Rs 18.2 lakh while it was Rs 19.5 lakh in 2022-23. The gross salary offered in 2021-22 and 2022-23 was Rs 19.9 lakh and Rs 18.6 lakh, respectively.
The institute added that a total of 1,513 students used the office of careers service (OCS) portal in 2022-23. Of these 1,270 students received job offers, including pre-placement offers, while 243 didn’t receive any job offers in IIT Delhi placement drive 2022-22. In 2021-22, 1,471 IIT Delhi students registered on the OCS platform, of which 1,105 got job offers.

As per IIT Delhi data, around 1,050 jobs , including pre-placement offers (PPOs), were offered during the phase 1 of the placement drive 2023-24. Around 20 international organisations have offered 50-plus international offers. Firms from Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States and others participated in the placement drive.
The most job offers were received by students in BTech in Computer Science and Engineering . A total of 85 students pursuing the degree received 102 job offers. The most number of students were placed in the MBA in Focus on Management Systems.
