IIT Jodhpur MBA Technology draws business owners, defence personnel, medical professionals

Business owners, defence personnel, and medical professionals are among the first cohort of learners joining the MBA Technology programme offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ). This is despite IIT Jodhpur requiring two years of work experience for joining the management programme.

Despite having established careers, these individuals are choosing to upskill in areas such as artificial intelligence, analytics, and digital product management that help them stay relevant in an increasingly data-driven business environment.

Many enrolled in the IITJ MBA Technology course have over a decade of professional expertise, including a business owner managing an export enterprise, an army officer, and a practicing doctor preparing to launch his own business.

IIT Jodhpur MBA Technology: What it offers

The programme offers two specialisation tracks, which include analytics and artificial intelligence along with digital product management. IIT Jodhpur MBA Technology course also provides access to the IIT alumni network, helping participants to build professional connections alongside academic learning.

IIT Jodhpur has also lowered the work experience requirement from the conventional three years to two. However, the early responses indicate that seasoned professionals are enrolling in such programmes to develop skills that help them make informed decisions in the age of artificial intelligence and technology.

Analytics and AI preferred specialisation

Among the available specialisations, analytics and artificial intelligence have become the favourite over digital product management. Avinash Kumar Agarwal, director, IIT Jodhpur says, "What we're seeing is a direct response to an identified gap. "Professionals across fields are recognizing that better decisions, not just better products, are what will differentiate them going forward. That's why Analytics & AI is resonating so strongly,” says the statement.
