IIT Kanpur offers scholarships for JEE Advanced 2024 rankers

Bright Minds Scholarships worth Rs 3 lakh annually will be given to the top 100 JEE Advanced 2024 rankers admitted to BTech, BS programmes.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is set to continue its 'Bright Minds Scholarships' for the fourth consecutive year, supporting talented students following the announcement of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 results. These ten prestigious scholarships are generously funded by IIT Kanpur alumnus Lokvir Kapoor.

Bright Minds Scholarships are available to the top 100 rank holders of JEE Advanced 2024 who are admitted to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Bachelor of Science (BS) programmes at the institute. Each scholarship is worth Rs 3 lakh annually, covering tuition and living expenses for each of the four years.

Manindra Agrawal, director of IIT Kanpur, congratulated the JEE Advanced toppers and announced the continuation of the 'Bright Minds Scholarships'. He highlighted the institute's commitment to supporting and nurturing the brightest minds in the country, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic journey.

Agarwal also addressed IIT Kanpur's focus on technology that is reshaping the world, as reflected in its debut in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings at the 2nd rank in India in data science and artificial intelligence. As stated by Agarwal, IIT Kanpur also ranked 36th globally in the QS world university rankings. The computer science department at IIT Kanpur is ranked 3rd in India.

IIT Kanpur's recent collaboration with Samsung Research and Development Institute, Noida, focuses on joint research projects in artificial intelligence, involving students, faculty, and industry experts. With such collaborations, IIT Kanpur remains the first choice for students aspiring to make their mark in science and technology, as per Agarwal's words.
