IIT Madras to offer 10 new online courses for Class 10-12 students, expands ‘School Connect’ initiative

Schools can participate in the IIT Madras August 2025 School Connect initiative by registering before July 25
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has increased the number of courses offered under the ‘School Connect’ programme. A total of 10 online certificate courses will be offered to Class 10, 11, and 12 students across India.
In order to enrol students in these programmes, schools must initiate a non-commercial partnership with IIT Madras .
The School Connect programme by IIT Madras for education outreach will include assignments and an optional project for a “hands-on” experience.
IIT Madras has already begun registrations for the August 2025 batch and the last date to apply is July 25. Schools can register on the following website to enrol their students: code.iitm.ac.in/schoolconnect. The courses will be of a duration of eight weeks.

The list of programmes offered under the IIT Madras school outreach initiative is given below.
- Introduction to Data Science and AI
- Introduction to Electronic Systems
- Introduction to Architecture and Design
- Fun with Math and Computing
- Math Unplugged: Games and Puzzles
- Introduction to Ecology
- Introduction to Engineering Biological Systems
- Introduction to Law
- The Fundamentals of Aerospace
- Humanities Unplugged

The IIT Madras outreach programme is conducted in three batches every year - August, October, and January - allowing students to engage with up to three courses annually. While the school registrations are free of cost, individual students have to pay a fee to enrol in the certificate programmes at IIT Madras.
IIT Madras Initiative: Partners and students
The IITM School Connect programme is a “flagship outreach initiative” by the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) at IIT Madras . Currently, over 2,300 schools are partnered with IIT Madras and more than 50,000 students have enrolled.
Speaking at the event, IIT Madras director V Kamakoti said: “We believe that early exposure to emerging fields can spark curiosity and shape future innovators. By empowering students at a formative stage, we are investing in a future-ready nation.”
