The IIT-M and BodhBridge Education course will train school teachers, principals, college faculty for free so that ‘students can access quality career counselling from early age’
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) Pravartak Technologies Foundation has started inviting applications for the next batch of ‘career counselling certification training’ programme. The online programme is free of cost and the last date to apply is July 2, 2025.
IITM Pravartak has partnered with BodhBridge Education to provide the career counselling course to school teachers, principals, college faculty, educators, and counsellors. All study material will be provided for free “so that Indian students can have access to quality career counselling from an early age,” an official press release stated.
The programme aims to deliver comprehensive foundation-level training in career counselling, with access to the top 100 careers, self-assessment tools, and career guidance frameworks available to teachers.
According to an official statement, 4,215 teachers from 22 states and union territories have enrolled for this training in the last six months, and 976 teachers have completed their certification.
While the training programme is completely free, those who wish to obtain a certificate from IITM Pravartak can register for the certification exam by paying a fee of Rs 1,000. They have to qualify in the post-training assessment to receive a performance-based certificate at the end of the course.
Vilas Wakhare from Seva Sahayog Foundation said, “The training was extremely useful, with clear and holistic insights that enriched our understanding of career guidance.”
The next batch of the training will begin from July 4. Interested teachers and educators can apply on bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in.
Balamurali Shankar, chief knowledge officer at IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation highlighted that teachers trained in career counselling can support students with “informed, personalised support at schools, empowering students to make smarter academic and career decisions”.
