IIT Madras records 19% hike in internships; 19 international job offers

IIT Madras Internship 2023: The top recruiters were Adobe, JP Morgan Chase & Co. 17% more students received internship offers.
NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras recorded a 19 percent increase in internship offers on the first day of campus internship drive for students of 2023-24 batch held on August 5 and August 12. Students received 19 international internship offers from seven companies.
The institute witnessed a 17% increase in the number of students who secured an internship and a 51% jump in the number of companies that visited the campus.
The top recruiters which participated in the internship drive were texas instruments, JP Morgan Chase & Co, Adobe, Procter and Gamble, and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.

Highlighting the importance of internships, professor Sathyan Subbiah, advisor, placement and internship), IIT Madras, said, “An internship is now an essential component for the launching of a successful and fulfilling career for students. It enables them to imply their skills and knowledge acquired during their curriculum in a real-life work environment. I’m happy with the efforts made by our team to enable students to get internships despite turbulent conditions.”
Siddhesh Gatkal, student internship head, IIT Madras, said, “The Internship Team has proactively worked harder to ensure that our students are able to pursue their dream roles despite the adverse global factors. The unprecedented rise in the number of recruiters both shows the trust recruiters place on IIT Madras students and the efforts undertaken by the team.”
