IIT Tirupati Placements 2024: 46% students not placed yet, reveals RTI reply

154 IIT Tirupati students have been placed so far of 287 who registered for placements 2023-24. No data on salaries.
NEW DELHI: In the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati, forty-six percent of students are yet to receive a placement offer in this year’s campus placements, as per the data shared in an RTI reply received today, May 10. While responding to the Right to Information (RTI), the institute highlighted that the placement process for the 2023-24 academic session is still ongoing.
As per the RTI response obtained by Dheeraj Singh, 154 students of the current academic year have been placed so far which is lesser as compared to the last two years. 181 IIT Tirupati students were placed in the year 2021-22, the data revealed, which decreased to 179 in the subsequent year. The institute did not actually share the number of students who are yet to be placed this year.
Unlike other IITs, the institute did not share the information on the average and median salaries of the students who were placed over the previous three years in its response. “Such information is not available,” the IIT said.

IIT Tirupati started functioning in 2015 and is one of the third generation of IITs. The institute was ranked 59th in the list of top engineering institutes in the country under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking last year.
