Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) will open the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Adv 2025) registration window for the top 2.5 lakh JEE Mains 2025 rank holders tomorrow. This year, a total of 2,50,236 students have been declared qualified to apply for JEE Advanced 2025; lowest in the last 6 years.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the minimum JEE Main cut-off percentile required to qualify for JEE Advanced along with the BE, BTech final results. The JEE Main cut-off 2025 for general, EWS, OBC, UR-PwD categories were slightly reduced, while the cut-offs for SC, ST have been increased by just 1 point.
Compared to last year, the number of candidates qualified for JEE Advanced 2025 in each category reduced significantly, except for OBC and ST categories which saw 44 and 43 more entrants respectively, make it to the top ranks.

Overall, this year saw the lowest number of qualifiers for JEE Advanced 2025 in the last 6 years. Notably, only the top 2.45 lakh rank holders were considered eligible till 2019. After the pandemic, IITs increased the top bracket to 2.5 lakh from 2020.

Is JEE Advanced registration 2025 started? - IIT Kanpur will start the application process for JEE Main qualified candidates on April 23 at 10 am.
IIT JEE Advanced 2025 official website - The JEE Advanced application form 2025 will be made available on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.
What is the last date to apply for JEE Advanced 2025? - IIT JEE Advanced registration window 2025 will be closed on May 2 at 11.59 pm. The last date to make application fee payment is May 5.
JEE Advanced registration fees 2025 - Female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates will have to pay Rs 1,600 as application fees, whereas all other applicants will have to pay Rs 3,200.
Documents required to fill JEEE Advanced form 2025 - Candidates are required to upload the following documents while filling the JEE Advanced application form.
- Class 10 certificate if the date of birth is mentioned in it or the birth certificate.
- Class 12 certificate for those who appeared first time for this examination in 2024 or 2025 or whose Board declared the Class XII (or equivalent examination) result of academic session 2022-23 on or after June 28, 2023.
- If the candidate’s name is not same as in the Class 10 certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name.
- Class 12 marksheet 2025, if not available now, should be uploaded later.
When will IIT Kanpur conduct JEE Advanced 2025 - The entrance exam for admission to IITs will be conducted on May 18 in two shifts. Registered candidates will have to appear for both paper 1 and paper 2. Students will be given three hours to attempt the JEE Advanced question paper.
JEE Advanced shift 1 exam 2025 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and paper 2 from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
