NEW DELHI: First shift of the last day Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main 2024) session 1 was conducted today. As per the students’ reaction, the JEE Mains 2024 February 1 BE, BTech paper 1 exam was moderate in difficulty level. So far, the mathematics section was the ‘toughest’ compared to chemistry and physics in all the previous shifts. JEE Main 2024 Feb 1 Live

The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the JEE Main shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon. The computer-based test (CBT) was conducted for 3 hours and carried both multiple choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value questions. Each correct answer will be awarded four marks and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer, as per the JEE Main marking scheme.

The JEE Main 2024 session 1 exams will conclude today. The JEE Main session 2 application form will be released tomorrow for the exam scheduled to be held between April 1 to 15.

JEE Main February 1 shift 1 analysis

Candidates can check the subject-wise question paper analysis here. Overall, the JEE Mains 2024 question paper was moderate in difficulty level compared to January 31 exams and last year’s session 1 exams.

Physics - This section was moderate in difficulty level. It was relatively easier than mathematics and moderate compared to chemistry. Students said that the physics section had more formula-based questions and the weightage of all chapters were approximately same.

Maths - Students found the mathematics section tougher. Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on topics such as Calculus and Algebra. Some of the questions were reportedly lengthy and tricky.

Chemistry - The section had more theory-based questions and more weightage was given to physical and organic chemistry. Overall, this section was ‘easy to moderate in difficulty level.
